The Copper Academy is registered as a Specialist Independent school with the Department for education. As this we will be overseen by Ofsted and inspected regularly using the national framework for independent schools. This stringent set of standards are used to assess: administration of safeguarding; welfare and safety of students and staff; compliance with mainstream national curriculum; leadership, administration and management; plus suitability of building and resources.

  • The hair and beauty (specialist) curriculum is high quality. Teachers have expert subject knowledge and
    use exemplary resources and amenities to great effect. Practical sessions with clients
    help to recreate professional salon standards in the school. Teachers use assessment
    well to provide timely and helpful support for pupils. Leaders are dedicated to improving pupils’ reading.

Vocational Qualifications at The Copper Academy.

Hair and Beauty qualifications: Written by Emma Hosie in line with Industry requirements, Registered and accredited by ABT (Association of Beauty Therapists) No:1168 these Hair and Beauty qualifications lead to both level 2 mainstream courses or apprenticeships.

ABT accredited Entry Level Hair and Beauty Stylist diploma: Units to include Health and safety, Introduction to industry, Shampoo and conditioning, Women’s styling, Plaiting, Nail Art, Fashion and creative makeup, skincare.

ABT accredited Progressive level Hair and beauty Stylist: units to include Men’s styling, Setting Hair, Bridal to avante-garde Hair up, Gel Manicure, Nail extension diploma: Acrylic and Polygel. Micro bead Hair extension diploma.
