Supporting the local community who have special educational needs, mental health struggles, disabilities or who may choose the home education system through choice.

Centered around the subjects of Hair, Nail Tech and Beauty, Art or Equine these classes are interactive, fun and inclusive, promoting social skills, dexterity and mental wellbeing.

Hair and Beauty education inclusion class for learners aged 10-16 years.

The Copper Academy recognise that sometimes you may be a student who feels different from their peers, learning may take longer, both academically and socially. Despite your tremendous efforts, results may be a fraction that of your peers and social acceptance is much harder, setting you up for frustration. Instead of a fun and fulfilling experience, school, college or society can become a breeding ground for anxiety and a battleground. This Hair and beauty class is designed especially for them.

Equine therapy workshop

In conjunction with the SEND community hub charity and Broomhill manor stables this therapy based programme is centred around stable management, grooming and riding for those who wish to. Using miniature shetlands and working with a horse who is happy to build a partnership is hugely rewarding and empowering for everyone, but especially for those who can benefit from confidence and relationship building activities.

Clay Art workshop to support members of the community who may be experiencing loneliness.

The creative process is a means of expression. It is a symbolic means of communication, with art being a work of the mind.

The act of artistic creation plays a significant role in the treatment of many pathologies. They are the intrinsic qualities of artistic production that will play a role in our brain through the feelings of happiness and the effort required. The aim of art is not to fleetingly amaze us, but to take us on a “peaceful and delightful” journey, sailing from satisfaction to satisfaction. This satisfaction is closely linked to the sense of fulfilment that comes from producing an artwork.
