Hair and Beauty education inclusion class for learners aged 11-18 years
The Copper Academy recognise that sometimes you may be a student who feels different from their peers, learning may take longer, both academically and socially. Despite your tremendous efforts, results may be a fraction that of your peers and social acceptance is much harder, setting you up for frustration. Instead of a fun and fulfilling experience, school, college or society can become a breeding ground for anxiety and a battleground. This Hair and beauty class is designed especially for them.

So, you may ask why choose an art therapy workshop?
The creative process is a means of expression. It is a symbolic means of communication, with art being a work of the mind.
The act of artistic creation plays a significant role in the treatment of many pathologies. They are the intrinsic qualities of artistic production that will play a role in our brain through the feelings of happiness and the effort required.
The aim of art is not to fleetingly amaze us, but to take us on a “peaceful and delightful” journey, sailing from satisfaction to satisfaction. This satisfaction is closely linked to the sense of fulfilment that comes from producing an artwork.
The supportive nature of art well-being workshops helps a wide range of people from children to adults, they may have a variety of difficulties but the use of art media as its main mode of expression and communication means that these workshops are open to everyone.
As a trained art therapist, I will encourage individuals to use different media to explore how the creative process is linked to their feelings and perceptions, giving them a greater understating of themselves.
Emma Hosie and The Copper Academy uses a safe space ethos which supports the attendees in feeling more in control of their life, and a safe and understanding environment to be able to express themselves.
